Women are always after taking care of their skin, especially their faces. They use different types of market products to look fresh and spotless. However, they still need something new and natural to apply to their skin.
Lauren Padawer, the owner and founder of Alaska Glacial Mud CO, has introduced basic natural material to be used by everyone including men. Her product is refined mud from the Copper River in Alaska, which is the purest mud in the world. The mud has not only butter-like qualities to smoothen the skin but it also absorbs all the toxins in our skin to give a new look.
The owner came on Shark Tank to request $100K in exchange for 20% of her company. She also brought her Alaska mud facial products on the set to demonstrate its smoothness. Let’s explore her journey on the show.
Alaska Glacial Mud CO Net Worth Shark Tank Update
Lauren was looking for an investment of $100K in exchange for 20% equity in the company. At the time of the episode, she valued her company at $500K. Lauren did not secure a deal with any of the sharks. After the show aired, the company experienced a good boost in exposure. As per my rough estimate, the current net worth of Alaska Glacial Mud Co. in 2024 is around $3.5 million.

The Owner’s Backstory
Lauren is a commercial salmon fisherman. She related that one day when she was rafting in one of the major rivers, the Copper River, in Alaska, she stepped on a buttery mud. She then applied it on her face, which after a while felt smooth and refreshing. This led to the foundation of Alaska Glacial Mud CO.
She is from Alaska which is at a distance from areas around the globe. It makes it difficult for her to meet people for her business purposes.
Initial Pitch
The owner came on the show to seek $100K for a 20% equity stake. Her idea is to provide a spa-like experience at home with her natural and safe-to-use product, Alaska Glacial Mud. The product is not only anti-toxic but also has silk and butter-like qualities to give baby skin to the customers.
Queries about the Product
Corcoran asked the first question about Lauren’s competitors in terms of Alaska mud usage. Lauren replied that there is nobody apart from her who is using Alaska mud as a mask for human skin.
Kevin then wanted to know if the mud was processed before using it as a skin product. Lauren highlighted that it is refined to extract any impurity before being packaged. She added that the Alaska mud is the cleanest mud in the whole world as it is made by a wild crystal river.
Lori asked about the duration the mud takes to dry up. The owner pointed out that it takes 10 to 15 minutes to dry up. The mud contains micro-fine clay particles that absorb impurities and dead skin from our bodies.
Herjavec inquired about the sales and the medium for selling the product. She highlighted that her sales are only $36K annually and she has no retail shops yet. Her company wholesales the product to spas and all over the world.
Corcoran asked whether her interests are only in the spas. Lauren replied that she is focused on spas but she also wanted to make her product accessible to those who can’t go to spas too.
She also asked about the price of her product. The owner answered that it retails for $34 and it costs her $3 to make one jar of the mud.
Herjavec inquired about her own investment in the company. She replied that she had invested $50K in the business from her own savings.
Cuban then wanted to know about her income from the fishing side. Lauren replied that she makes a little over $100K a year
Shark’s Response and Final Decision
Lori was the first shark out of the deal as she found the market of facial products hard to sustain and grow.
Cuban was next to back out of the deal as he thought her company has still a lot to go before being invested by a shark.
Herjavec followed Cuban and decided to drop the deal too as she has to do a lot to educate people and besides her company’s sales are also very low.
Finally, Corcoran and Kevin also backed out of the deal, leaving Lauren with no sharks on her side.
Product’s Availability
Despite getting no deal on Shark Tank, Lauren became successful in the skin product market and her annual revenue is $3.5 million to $5 million. The company has also changed its brand name to Alaska Glacial Essential and is operating through its Alaska Glacial Essentials website.
Conclusion
Thus, Lauren not only proved to be a better fisherman but also a much better entrepreneur with her facial product. It seems unfortunate for sharks to not invest in her business, which is now in millions of dollars in sales.
Hey there, it’s Andaleb Youns. I am a freelance content writer and am currently pursuing a BS in English Language and Literature. I have expertise in writing Blog Posts, social media content, and copywriting. I know how it feels to be a student and still be dependent on parents to fulfill even basic daily needs. This realization became apparent while watching Shark Tank. Although I started watching this show out of boredom, it proved to be an inspirational show. The show made me realize the importance of hard work, being independent, and of having a business of my own. I still look forward to it for entertaining and inspirational content.
