People purchase transportation systems on the basis of their needs and the budget they can afford. Mostly workers buy trucks to help in load shifting and transportation however they also have a personal life to look after. Most of the time their families don’t want to use the truck for an outing but they can’t afford to have any other means of transport either.
Donny McCall, the owner of Invis-a-Rack, knows the perfect solution. He has introduced a cargo frame rack that can convert a work truck into a personal driving system. Moreover, the transformation can be done in under a minute, making it easier for the user.
The owner came on Shark Tank to request $100K for 10% equity in his company. He also introduced a whole setup of the frames with a truck bed to demonstrate how his product works. Let’s see what he is up to.
Invis-a-Rack Net Worth Shark Tank Update
Donny was looking for an investment of $100k in exchange for 10% equity in the company. At the time of the episode, he valued his company at $1 million. Unfortunately, Donny did not secure a deal with any of the sharks. However, after the show was aired, the company experienced a significant boost in exposure. As per my rough estimate, the current net worth of Invis-a-Rack in 2024 is around $5 million.

The Owner’s Backstory
Donny is from Sparta, North Carolina where the economic depression is very high. The area’s textile and aggregate company has gone away, making the area backward and difficult to survive. Thus, he has started the business to help his community out.
His Invis-a-Rack is not only a two-in-one transportation system providing the luxury of both private and work life but also helps in more employment.
Initial Pitch
The owner came from a small town to show his patriotism towards his country. He requested $100K for 10% of his company. He also introduced himself as a person who is looking for an opportunity to help not only his family but also the church and the community to which he belongs.
Queries about the Product
Kevin asked the first question regarding the durability of his product. Donny pointed out that he had tested 1500 pounds on it which didn’t affect the product.
Kevin also inquired if the rack would be compatible with any standard pick-up truck bed, and Donny assured him that it would be.
Cuban then asked about the manufacturing location. The owner answered that the company brings different parts of Invis-a-Rack from cities like Ohio and Wisconsin, and collects them in his hometown i.e., Sparta.
Corcoran inquired about his aid in helping people with employment. Donny answered that he helped to employ hundreds of people.
Herjavec then asked regarding his sales. He replied that his sales were $50K in the first year, amounting to 150 units. The shark also wanted to know his plans regarding $100K. He wanted to create a display for the product, basically the POP.
Kevin then highlighted that there are already large distributors where Donny can sell his secondary product. The owner answered that he couldn’t make up for their high points. The distributors want his product to be below $300, which does not make up for the cost of making it.
Cuban again asked about the cost of making the product. He answered that it costs about $250 to make.
Daymond asked regarding his profits on $50K sales. Donny replied that there was no profit in those sales. He also highlighted that he wants his product to be made in the U.S.A. only as he won’t compromise on the quality of the product which stops him from going overseas. He emotionally stood with his point to show his patriotism.
Shark’s Response and Final Decision
His being conservative and limiting himself in a business-led the first Shark Corcoran to drop out.
Kevin also dislikes his idea of limiting himself to the U.S.A. and related how Apple Company realized its need for foreign manufacturing, leading to its being one of the world’s largest companies. Then he backed out.
Daymond highlighted that Donny is being overspeed with the business instead of moving in a step-by-step manner, which led to his dropping out as well.
Although Herjavec himself was a factory worker’s son he knows how it is important for the country to compete on a global level. He confesses that they all are immigrants then what’s the point of staying true to made in America? Herjavec even got emotional while talking about the struggle his father faced as an immigrant but his investment in Donny’s company is not worth the risk.
The very low amount of capital makes Cuba back out of the deal as well, leaving no sharks to accept Donny’s deal behind.
Product’s Availability
Although Donny was not able to grab any deal from the sharks it made successfully through the practical and wider world. His emotional and patriotic introduction on Shark Tank, left a mark on people’s hearts making him successful. Now the product is around $800-$1200 and it can be found on Invis-a-Rack and on Amazon.
Conclusion
Invis-a-Rack proved to be the most emotional company that made its mark on the show, which also affected the sharks. However, the company was unable to get a deal from Sharks. The owner’s life then took a reverse gear and made a name on the wider horizon.
